The Rubber Band Law

So last night I had a good 40 minutes of driving to do. Rather than listen to the same songs played on the radio station, I popped on my "15 Invaluable Laws of Growth" audio to get some inspiration.

Inspired is an understatement. I listened to Chapter 10 The Rubber Band law (I believe?). I took it to heart and thought of my friends, family, and Beachbody family when listening to this. It basically explains that you should NEVER become too comfortable in where you are. You should celebrate your milestones, but always be striving to be better. One quote that John said that stuck out to me was "the average are the best of the worst".

So many people in our society (especially younger generation) reach a certain goal, then think "thats it", and get too comfortable. They're only driven to do the minimum expected of them. I did this myself getting to a certain rank in my business, getting too comfortable, and now I'm paying for it. Its like starting all over again, when in retrospect I could of just kept going, and trying harder for that next goal.

We stretch our bodies and it increases our agility and helps us live longer and prevents injury. Why wouldn't we 'stretch' our lives in a professional/personal aspect as well? This is something I am going to be working on from now on. Going above and beyond and never getting too comfortable, because at any moment you could lose it all.

A rubber band has no use unless it's being stretched.

Highly Recommended book:
